Happy New Year to all our members!

A special welcome to David Morris who has taken over as Chairman and introduces himself below.

David Morris, Chairman HADS
I was born in Littlehampton, Sussex in 1949. Moving to Southampton where I grew up. I went straight from school into the RAF as an apprentice. On leaving the RAF after 11 years I had various jobs including a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police, Charity Community Fundraiser, and my final three years before retirement I was the General Manager at Solent Sky Museum in Southampton.

During retirement I have been involved with the U3A for the past 12 years serving on the main committees of two clubs. I am at present on the committee of the Botley, Hedge End and District U3A. I also facilitator the Archaeological Interest Group, and a Church Exploration Group which looks at the history and architecture of churches.

I am not an archaeologist, just someone who over the years has developed a keen interest in the subject. Since joining HADS I have learned so much more about archaeology and dowsing. I look forward to serving the Committee, the members and the interest of the club, and its activities.
